Questions You Might Have
Before beginning your coaching journey, you may have questions about what to expect. This space was created to bring clarity and peace of mind as you explore whether Faith & Trauma Recovery Coaching is right for you. My hope is that what you read here helps you feel informed, supported, and encouraged as you take your next steps.
What’s the difference between coaching and counseling?
Coaching focuses on growth, goals, and transformation. It helps you identify where you are, where you want to be, and what steps will move you forward. Counseling, on the other hand, often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions or processing deep emotional pain from the past. As a Faith & Trauma Recovery Coach, I don’t diagnose or treat mental illness. Instead, I help you understand the impact of trauma, develop emotional awareness, and integrate practical tools from neuroscience and Scripture to move toward healing, stability, and a sense of purpose.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No, coaching is not therapy. Therapy looks backward to process and heal emotional wounds through clinical methods. While we may gently explore the past at times to gain clarity and understanding, coaching is future-focused. It helps you grow, set goals, and cultivate healthy patterns that support lasting change. Coaching is about progress, not pathology. As your Faith and Trauma Recovery Coach, I help you create a personalized roadmap and healing blueprint that guides you toward restoration, purpose, and wholeness.
Can I work with you if I’m already in therapy?
Yes. You’re welcome to do coaching on its own or alongside therapy, whichever best supports your season of healing. Coaching and therapy serve different purposes: therapy helps process and treat the past, while coaching focuses on growth, goals, and moving forward. My role is to help you rebuild safety, renew faith, and create practical steps toward wholeness.
What does a Faith & Trauma Recovery Coach do?
A Faith & Trauma Recovery Coach helps you bridge the gap between faith, emotional health, and neuroscience. Together, we explore how trauma has shaped your beliefs, behaviors, and relationship with yourself, others, and God. Using science-informed tools and biblical truth, I help you learn to regulate your body, renew your mind, and restore your spirit so you can walk confidently in your God-given identity.
How does Neuroscience relate to faith and trauma healing?
Neuroscience is the study of how the brain, body, and nervous system work together to shape our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When we experience trauma, whether in childhood or adulthood, our brains and bodies adapt for survival. These changes can affect how we think, feel, and respond to stress long after the danger has passed.
Understanding the science of trauma helps us see that many emotional struggles like anxiety, emotional numbness, or feeling “stuck” are not signs of weakness or lack of faith, but natural responses from a nervous system that has been overwhelmed. As a Faith & Trauma Recovery Coach, I combine biblical truth with brain-based tools to help women reconnect with their bodies, renew their minds, and restore their spirits. This blend of faith and science shows us that our Heavenly Father designed the brain with the ability to heal, grow, and be transformed.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Coaching may be right for you if you’re ready to take an active role in your healing journey. It’s ideal for women who want to grow in self-awareness, strengthen their faith, and create healthy emotional and spiritual patterns. If you’re seeking deep trauma processing, I may refer you to a licensed therapist, but if you’re ready to rebuild, grow, and move forward, coaching can be a beautiful next step.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. All coaching sessions are held virtually, allowing you to participate from anywhere in a space where you feel comfortable. This also provides flexibility for women balancing work, family, and healing.
Do I need to be a Christian to work with you?
Not necessarily. My coaching is rooted in Biblical faith and a relationship with Yahweh and His Word. I work with women who are exploring, questioning, or rebuilding their connection with God. My role is to meet you where you are and support your journey toward wholeness: spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
What can I expect in a coaching session?
Each session is a collaborative space designed for reflection, growth, and renewal. We may explore thought patterns, emotional triggers, faith challenges, or practical steps toward healing. You’ll gain tools to regulate your emotions, shift perspectives through Scripture and science, and create new, healthy habits that support your whole self.
